FWD @ Plastic People

Walking into Plastic People, you instantly feel the floor vibrating from the subs under you- walk down the stairs and you start soaking up the energy left from the FWD before. The atmosphere in there is dark, diverse and deep with a music - comes - first attitude. FWD started up in 2001 and has played an integral part in the birth and development of dubstep, grime, funky and future bass laden music. Every event brings with it a scene of recognisable locals and new heads, always on the same level. Anything from murky basement eyes-down skanking to head-nodding funky vibes are played by key DJs from Mala and Kode 9 to Rinse Fm's Elijah and Skilliam.

Earlier this year Plastic People was shut down temporarily due to a concentrated collective of cunts but thanks to the ever-growing loyals and an online petition it's back on a thursday- a nice wind down to the week. FWD is always the one if you want to keep your ears close to the changes in underground sounds and hear the freshest plates being dropped more than by your aunt at Christmas. They also put on collaborative nights with Rinse FM at The End regularly, with super massive big line ups and like a DMZ birthday and SUBDUB in Leeds, FWD is definitely worth the pilgrimage.

Check back on the weekly Listings - next week has Loefah, Untold and a Surprise Guest playing, which S • W • C already know is going to be a big night.
