James Montrose aka Fortune is a Manchester based artist and the co-owner of promotion collective Foundation. His beats stand-alone as a fresh and forward thinking form of drum & bass, in the same vein as artists such as dBridge and Alix Perez. Fortune's dubstep follows in a similar style, providing a fine example of the garage-based 140bpm sound done so well by north-westeners. The events put on by Jim and partner BOOKS have also made waves in the local scene, playing host to massive artists such as Icicle and Loxy and bringing some deep rolling high grade bass sounds to packed out crowds.
